Temple History

Shivani Temple, Kanker is also known as Shivani Maa Temple. It is believed that the Goddess in this temple is a combination of two Goddesses, namely Durga Maa and Kali Maa. This temple has been attracting tourists from all over the world since a long time. The structure of the temple portrays the ancient style of building temples and reflects an ethnic and traditional look.


Additional Information

The Goddess comprises half Durga Maa and half Kali Maa. There are only two instances of this idol in the world. One is here in Kanker and the other one is in Kolkata. The Shivani Temple in Kanker in India is famous for holding the Navarathri festival. Thousands of tourists from all over the world and from all across India visit Kanker during this festival.

From Chhattisgarh Airport, Raipur Shivani Maa temple is around 135 Km and 63 Km from Dhamtari Railway Station. Kanker Bus Stand is 2.9 Km from the temple. Local taxis and autos are available. Mini buses are also other option.
