Lord Lakshmana

Temple History

The Lakshman Pahari (Laxman hill), also known as the Laxman hill, sits en route to the Parikrama path of the Kamadgiri mountain. It is a small hillock about midway to the main entrance or the Pramukh Dwar. Locals believe that this is the hillock where Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Rama, rested when he was not standing guard, or serving his elder brother Rama and his wife, Sita. Hence this place is considered as holy grounds. The hillock is a nice quiet spot, and offers a lovely panoramic views of Chitrakoot town.
