Temple History

Devi Dol is a centuries old temple constructed during the reign of Ahom Dynasty. Itis 60 feet high and the base has a diameter of 120 feet. The bolisthal is the most sacred part of the temple and is reserved for the puja of Goddess Kali and Durga. A small Shani temple is also nearby and devotees visit this temple in large number on Saturdays.


Additional Information

Durga puja is celebrated every year in this temple that is attended by a large number of people from every part of the country. Shiva Dol and Vishnu Dol lie within the same premises.

From Jorhat Airport Sivasagar Devi Dol temple is 68 KM, it is 16 KM from Simaluguri Junction and 1.1 KM from Sibsagar Town station. The ASTC Bus Station is at a walking distance of 750 m from the temple.

The NH-37 is well-connected with all the major places of Assam with the rest of the country. Pilgrims can reach the destination via roadways as well. Buses, rental cars are available to reach Shivsagar.
